Retinal tears and detachments can be among the more urgent ophthalmic problems we encounter in our clinics. At the same time, flashes and floaters are incredibly common complaints, and a wide variety of different peripheral retinal lesions can be seen in these patients. In this presentation, Dr. Zheng, CRA’s newest retinal specialist we will review the different types of peripheral retinal lesions, their associated risks of causing retinal detachments, and appropriate management approaches. The goals of this discussion are to help the audience to better understand common retinal findings and complaints, more effectively counsel and monitor appropriate patients, and to optimize communication and expectations among patients and providers when needing to refer patients for additional evaluation.
