Optometry Gives Back

InfantSEE®

InfantSEE® is a public health program designed to ensure that eye and vision care becomes an integral part of infant wellness care to improve a child's quality of life. Under this program, AOA member optometrists provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment within the first year of life as a no cost public health service.

Optometry Cares: The AOA Foundation

Optometry Cares is optometry's premier philanthropic and charitable organization, and is the catalyst to making a difference in advancing eye health, vision care and the general well-being of the public through scientific, educational, charitable, and public service activities of the profession of optometry.

Optometry Giving Sight

Optometry Giving Sight was established in 2003 to address the needs of the 300 million men, women and children around the world who are blind or vision impaired simply because they don't have access to an eye exam and a pair of glasses. Optometry Giving Sight supports programs that offer not only eye exams and glasses in countries with little or no access to them, but that establish the infrastructure and train the local human resources required for sustainable, quality vision care.

Special Olympics - Lions Clubs International Opening Eyes Program

This program is a vision and eye health screening let by volunteer vision care professionals. Opening Eyes provides eye exams, prescription eyewear, sunglasses, and sports goggles to Special Olympics athletes.

VOSH - Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity

The primary mission of VOSH/International is to facilitate the provision and sustainability of vision care worldwide to people who can neither afford nor obtain such care.

Partnership Foundation for Optometric Education

The Partnership foundation for Optometric Education is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established in 1996. The Partnership's purpose is to provide long-term financial support for the advancement of optometric education and related special needs of the profession.

The William B. O'Rourke Foundation

Bill O'Rourke served for many years as the first full-time executive director of the Colorado Optometric Association. He was instrumental in the formation of the Colorado Vision Service Plan and the Colorado Optometric Center. Bill was committed to the belief that the public needed and deserved to be provided quality, affordable eye care.

Formed in 1996, The William B. O'Rourke Foundation is a non-profit Section 501(c)(3) organization that has contributed almost $1 million to organizations and individuals in the State of Colorado in support of Bill O'Rourke's humanitarian commitment.
